Everyone’s been getting giddy at the announcement of the date of transmission of the first episode of Game of Thrones Season 3. And quite rightly too. We all knew it was coming, and it’s been no secret that the date was going to be sometime in Spring of 2013, but now there is a solid, actual real release date. There’s no going back HBO…you’re going to have to show it to us now! Game of Thrones season 3 will begin on the 31st March 2013.
The Emmy and Golden Globe winning show adapted by George R. R. Martin’s best selling fantasy books will differ a little from the book’s pace and plot. This season sees the introduction of the Reeds…a whole season late to the party. Missing off the cast list is any sign of the Martells, presumably this means that Myrcella Baratheon and Ser Arys Oakheart (who were last seen being shipped off to Dorne) will be off the screens for the year, who knows if it also means a re-casting for the two characters. Rejoining the cast are Peter Dinklage, Lena Headey and Emilia Clarke.
The transmission date is for the USA so we in the UK will have to wait slightly longer to see the series. I’m sure there will be a whole slew of posters, character shots, featurettes and trailers in the run up.
