In addition to her primary roles, she worked as a second-grade teacher with Briarcliff Manor School District from 1998 to 2016. Ms. DiGilio began her career as a teacher with Yonkers Public School.

Ms. DiGilio initially pursued an education at Pace University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education. She concluded her studies with Fordham University, earning a Master of Arts in curriculum and teaching in 1992. Ms. DiGilio was inspired to seek a career in education from an early age, and she was further inspired by an internship she completed while in high school.
