After moving to the United States, he received a Master of Science from the University of Oklahoma in 1975 and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Tulsa in 1979. His career has progressed him through various positions and companies. Notably, he has worked for Conoco, Inc., as an interpreter geophysicist in London, England, chief geophysicist in the Netherlands and area geophysicist in Houston, TX, serving the Houston location as director of exploratory wells and economist. Boasting several decades of persistent work in his industry, Dr. Kousparis is the retired president and owner of Strategic Petroleum Investment Consultant Enterprise, Inc., Paris Gas & Oil Corporation, DE-Jay Minerals, LLC, SPICE Resources Ltd. and COMBO Gas Gathering, LLC.

When Dr. Kousparis immigrated to the United States from Greece in 1973, he only owned a small suitcase. Now the owner of five companies, he initially worked as a consultant for Amoco Production Company and moved on to work on his own projects in 1992, forming Spice Strategic Petroleum Investment Consulting Enterprise and growing considerably from there. Bolstered by his significant educational accomplishments, Dr. Kousparis maintains membership with numerous professional organizations, including the Society of Exploration Geophysicists, the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and the Texas Alliance of Energy Producers.

Due to his academic drive, Dr. Kousparis was recognized with an earth science fellowship from the University of Tulsa in 1976. Also interested in civic outreach, he co-founded and served as president of St. Basil the Great Greek Orthodox Church in Houston in 1993 and similarly founded Nea Vassileia Greek School in Houston in 1992, also serving this organization as president. A celebrated leader in his field, Dr. Kousparis has been recognized in such publications as Who's Who in Finance and Business, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Science and Engineering and Who's Who in the World.
