NEW YORK, NY, January 15, 2019 — Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Fred A. Freund with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Freund celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
After accruing more than 40 years of practiced industry experience, Mr. Freund retired from his role as partner with Kaye, Scholer, Fierman, Hays & Handler, now known as Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer LLP after its merger with Arnold & Porter in 2016, where he started in 1953 as an associate. Previously, he gained valuable expertise through his role as a law clerk to the chief judge of the U.S. District Court of the Southern District of New York and as a first lieutenant in the United States Air Force. In a career filled with many highlights, he is most proud of the strides he made in plumbing fixture antitrust litigation.
An expert in his field, Mr. Freund holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the prestigious Columbia University. In order to remain aware of changes in the field, he maintained affiliation with the New York City Bar Association, the American Bar Association and Phi Beta Kappa. Utilizing his knowledge of law, he contributed to such creative works as “Pleading and Pre-Trial of an Antitrust Claim” in 1961.
Mr. Freund has amassed a collection of Chinese and Japanese wood carvings which have been, and are being, donated to the Spurlock Museum, University Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Over the years, Mr. Freund has been recognized many times for his outstanding accomplishments, earning a U.S. Air Force Commendation Ribbon, as well as features in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who in American Law.
