George J. Walendowski is a retired adjunct associate professor of business mathematics and accounting who taught at Los Angeles City College for over 30 years

Mr. Walendowski is a retired adjunct associate professor of business mathematics and accounting who taught at Los Angeles City College for over 30 years until 2012. While teaching, he also served as an accounting advisory committee member for several years. Additionally, he taught accounting and business at Pasadena City College in California for several years between 1996 and 2007. In the field, he worked for several great organizations for more than two decades, beginning in 1972 as an accountant, data control supervisor and accounting analyst with the Unocal Corp. Mr. Walendowski also contributed his skills to the Hughes Aircraft Co. between 1979 and 1995 as a senior financial analyst, financial planning specialist, programs control specialist, business management specialist and business analyst.

Since 2011, Mr. Walendowski has been a reviewer of conference papers and an online tutor in both mathematics and finance. He formerly spent many years on various editorial boards, including Strategic Finance and Management Accounting Quarterly, SAM Management in Practice and SAM Advanced Management Journal. Furthermore, he has also served as a reviewer for the business policy and strategy division of the Academy of Management, the teaching and curriculum section of the American Accounting Association and the social issues in management division of Academy of Management. Over the years, Mr. Walendowski contributed numerous articles to various professional journals in his field.

An elected fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, Mr. Walendowski is also a longtime member of the Author's Circle with the Los Angeles chapter of the National Society of Accountants, the Oxford Education Society and the Oxford University Strategic Studies Group. Remaining active with several honor societies as well, he belongs to Beta Gamma Sigma, Omicron Delta Epsilon and Sigma Xi, among others. Mr. Walendowski is also a member of several alumni associations, including Cornell University Alumni, the Stanford Alumni Association, the Cal State LA Alumni Association and the MIT Professional Education Alumni.

Honored with a Superior Performance Award and a Certificate of Outstanding Achievement from the Hughes Aircraft Co., Mr. Walendowski also received an Author's Award from the Los Angeles chapter of the National Society of Accountants and a Certificate of Outstanding Service from the editorial advisory board of the Institute of Management Accountants. He has been included in approximately 65 editions of Who's Who, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Finance and Business and Who's Who in the World.

Born in Germany, Mr. Walendowski moved to the United States with his family when he was just two years old. He received an Associate of Arts at Los Angeles City College in 1968, followed by a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Business Administration at California State University in Los Angeles in 1970 and 1972, respectively. Mr. Walendowski is further certified in finance accounting, organizational leadership, business analysis, strategic decision and risk management, certified project manager, and as a chartered economist.
