Giftapart has been working on its innovative ecommerce marketplace for one year at its world headquarters in Somerville, New Jersey. Promising to “change the world” by it’s CEO and founder Filipe Pedroso, the company’s platform will provide consumers with a new way to engage in gifting and shopping.
“We have built an amazing platform with so many features that almost everyone will find something cool to use and enjoy at Giftapart,” said Pedroso, “We’ve attended a few retailer trade shows in the past few months, and look forward to having a presence at the Web Summit.”
In July, Giftapart announced that it had opened up a Europe office in Lisbon, Portugal. “Giftapart is ideally suited for international gifting. Coincidentally, the Web Summit is also in Lisbon, so it’s a very convenient location for us.”
The Web Summit is described by its organizers as “the largest tech conference in the world.” According to Wikipedia, the Web Summit, originally Dublic Web Summit, started in 2009 with attendees ranging from Fortune 500 companies to startups.
“Giftapart has been getting a lot of interest from both retailers and investors. This interest is reflected in Giftapart’s Crunchbase ranking, often within the top 200 in the world,” said Pedroso, who himself is ranked in the top 100 worldwide, “We recently closed a second seed round at $30 million valuation, and look forward to a Series A round within several months.”
The Web Summit is attended by many venture capital firms, and Pedroso said Giftapart is already scheduling meetings with potential partners. He said, “Our main objective at Web Summit is to continue introducing Giftapart to the investment community. Our user acquisition plan and strategy is amazing. Giftapart’s built-in viral component will provide unique growth tools creating a very positive expansive curve.”
“Our entire team at Giftapart is super excited to introduce the world to Giftapart very soon,” added Pedroso, “Not only is Giftapart the most fun and best place on earth for everyone to shop, but it’s also by far the best place for retailers to get, connect and sell to Gen Z’ers and millennial shoppers.”
