BOULDER, CO, July 09, 2019 — Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present John Hibbs with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Hibbs celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Hibbs, a natural bricoleur, has gravitated toward a career in engineering since his childhood. As soon as he solved a problem, he was working on the next unknown quantity, so he found computers and programming to be a natural fit for his skill set. With assistance from his brother and a part-time job, Mr. Hibbs attended the University of Denver in Colorado, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering in 1970.

Following his graduation, Mr. Hibbs worked as an electrical engineering consultant for the Merrick Company in Denver, Colorado, from 1972 to 1973, before accepting a position as a lighting engineer for the Holophane division of Johns Manville. He found success for the next six years with Johns Manville, during which time he wrote math modeling code to predict the performance of the company's products in a variety of situations. From 1979 to 1983, he served as the lighting products manager at Computer Sharing Services Incorporated of Denver, Colorado. Sensing that the market for timeshare professional computers was contracting, Mr. Hibbs took his experience from Johns Manville and his expertise at software marketing and established Hibbs Scientific Software in Boulder, Colorado, in 1983, where he would remain as the president and the owner until 1996.

Hibbs Scientific Software's flagship product was computer aided lighting analysis, a specialized CAD software written by Mr. Hibbs that streamlined the process of drafting and modeling industrial lighting setups in sales settings. The highlight of his career was selling this software to the Hall of Fame Company following a brief bidding war with General Electric. He utilized his profits from the aforementioned sale to invest in residential real estate around the Denver metro area, an endeavor in which he remained active until his retirement in 2016. In his retirement, Mr. Hibbs enjoys woodworking, bicycling, and skiing.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, John Hibbs has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
