Ms. Walker initially earned a Bachelor of Science from Indiana State University in 1972. Passionate about her creative and educational goals, she soon followed this accomplishment with a Master of Arts in liberal studies from Valparaiso University in 1976. Celebrated for her contributions to local music education, Ms. Walker taught music at Porter Township School Corporation from 1972 until her retirement in 2012.
Interested in music from a young age, Ms. Walker started taking piano lessons at the age of 6, hoping to one day be able to play the organ.
