Kentek Corporation, the Platinum Sponsor for LIA’s International Laser Safety Conference (ILSC) 2019, will feature its PHOTON1 van during the premier four-day conference on laser safety.
Established in 1983, Kentek is a leading global provider of laser safety equipment—including laser protective eyewear, interlock systems, and unique beam control equipment—to thousands of industry players from over 60 countries.
The company launched PHOTON1 in 2017 as a mobile store, a Ford Transit 250 van that showcases an array of interactive demonstrations and Kentek products on laser safety. Some features include a Class 1 safety enclosure, laser barriers, and various safety goggles for different applications.
Kentek President and General Manager Tom MacMullin describes PHOTON1 as “a small-scale, but fully operational laser laboratory to demonstrate how to achieve laser safety goals in industrial, university, and research environments”. Participants at ILSC 2019 will be able to observe and interact with PHOTON1’s products to deepen their understanding of laser safety as laser use and application diversifies.
“There is significant growth in infrastructure for photonics research and education and evident growth in laser-based manufacturing to introduce lasers to support traditional cutting, welding, and drilling operations,” says Mr. MacMullin.
Mr. MacMullin hopes that PHOTON1 will be one of many ways Kentek is able “to maintain connections with our many customers and learn of new or unmet challenges in the domain of laser safety” at ILSC 2019.
The much-anticipated ILSC will run from March 18th to 21st, 2019 in Kissimmee, Florida. The comprehensive four-day conference will include scientific sessions, Industry Business Panel Discussions & Presentations and Practical Applications Seminars (PAS) that will provide professionals with unparalleled opportunities to gather the latest cutting edge information and network.
