Following his professorship at the University of Colorado, Dr. Melvin Wesley Hanna began working with Youth With A Mission, an international interdenominational mission organization.

With nearly 40 years of experience to his credit, Dr. Hanna dedicated his career in chemistry education to exploring the field while advocating for students to do the same. With a combined interest in mathematics as well, he began his career as a National Science Foundation fellow and, subsequently, as an Arthur A. Noyes teaching fellow at the California Institute of Technology. Dr. Hanna excelled for the majority of his career as a professor at the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Dr. Hanna has also contributed his expertise to the field of chemistry as a respected researcher and author. In addition to several articles written in professional scientific journals, he authored “Quantum Mechanics in Chemistry,” and “Foundation Studies in General Chemistry.” As a dedicated missionary, Dr. Hanna further penned “Mood Food, Nourishing Your God Given Emotions,” published in 2013.

Following his professorship at the University of Colorado, Dr. Hanna began working with Youth With A Mission, an international interdenominational mission organization. Then he became an associate dean of the College of Counseling and Health Care at the University of Nations in Kaila Kona, Hawaii. Prior to embarking on his professional path, he earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of California, Los Angeles and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Minnesota. In order to remain aware of advances in his field, Dr. Hanna maintains affiliation with the American Chemical Society and Phi Beta Kappa.
