DALLAS June 16, 2019
Sports recovery device company, PlayMakar Inc. has signed an endorsement deal with Alfonso “Trey” Burke, point guard for the Dallas Mavericks’ basketball team. Under the sponsorship terms, Burke will serve as a prominent face for the PlayMakar brand and appear in multiple marketing campaigns to promote its innovative line of sports recovery products and muscle stimulators.
“Trey Burke is a phenomenal athlete and personifies the attributes of a playmaker. Trey’s ability to create opportunities for himself and others on and off the court personifies the Playmakar brand,” said Mike Williams, Chief Executive Officer at PlayMakar. “PlayMakar is an inspiring, tough, gritty brand, and that’s what Burke brings to the court during every game. More so, we are committed to only partnering with athletes that are all-around good people that can be brand ambassadors beyond their name and likeness while connecting with our audience in a way that goes past simple name recognition. Trey is absolutely that guy.”
Alfonso Clark “Trey” Burke III was drafted by the Minnesota Timberwolves with the 9th overall pick in the 2013 NBA draft and immediately traded to the Utah Jazz. He has also played with the Washington Wizards and New York Knicks. He played college basketball for the Michigan Wolverines of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). As a sophomore during the 2012–13 season, he earned National Player of the Year and led the 2012–13 Wolverines to the championship game of the 2013 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament.
After being traded to the Jazz, Burke suffered a broken finger late in the preseason. He missed almost a month of the regular season before making his debut. He became a starter in his third game with the team. As an NBA rookie, Burke won the NBA All-Star Weekend Skills Challenge and went on to finish third in the NBA Rookie of the Year Award balloting.
“I’m really excited to join the PlayMakar team,” said Burke. “They are on the cutting edge of sports recovery and I’m proud to represent a brand that is committed to delivering products that are not only effective but priced affordability to be made available to athletes at every level. I look forward to spreading the word on how PlayMakar can help athletes everywhere reach new goals.”
