In order to remain aware of developments in the field, Dr. Afonin maintains his professional affiliation with the Engineering Research Council, the Open Association of Research Society USA, and the International Agency for Standards and Ratings. Additionally, he are Fellow Member of Engineering Research Council and Fellow Member of Directorate of Physics, International Agency for Standards and Ratings, he has contributed scholarly research to several articles, chapters and books, including “Piezoelectrics and Nanomaterials: Fundamentals, Developments and Applications,” “Advances in Nanotechnology,” “Precision Electromechanical Systems” and “Piezoactuator of Nano and Microdisplacement.”
Due to his outstanding accomplishments in physics and applied mathematics, Dr. Afonin has received numerous accolades throughout his career. In addition to earning an Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award and listings in Who's Who in the World, he placed first at the World Championship in Physics 2018 for the Electromagnetoelastic Actuators World Cup hosted by the International Agency for Standards and Ratings. Moreover, Dr. Afonin has competed in Russia's Exhibition of Achievements of the National Economy, and won two bronze medals and a silver medal for his performance.
