Human trafficking involves the use of force, fraud or coercion to exploit individuals or groups in performing forced labor, sexual acts, domestic servitude or harvesting of organs. Once trapped, it becomes very difficult for the victims of human trafficking to get out of that zone.
Human trafficking has become a major problem in Miami. According to the reports, the Florida Department of Children and Families have counted nearly 1,900 reports of human trafficking statewide in 2016 which was 54 percent rise from the previous year.
According to the officials of the Shangri-La, Miami is the capital of Latin America. The place witnesses a lot of people from around the world and a lack of guidance can make them the victim of human trafficking which should not happen.
Currently, the spa is complying with the federal regulations and ensuring each person related to the spa has valid security card and immigration status. Moreover, they also have apprentice positions for those looking to enter the industry and needs training and education.
Within a limited span of time, Shangri-La has built a foothold in Miami and also plans to expand in 2019 with more massage therapist having the know-how of innovative massages. They also plan to open their franchise at Brickell and South Miami Beach and sell their franchise as a part of their expansion plans.
