She also served as a gifted coordinator for the Forest Park School District 91 in Illinois, having previously worked as a gifted education specialist and a teacher with the River Forest School District in Illinois between 1981 and 1985. Earlier in her career, Ms. Winebrenner was associated with the Shorewood School District in Wisconsin, from 1961 to 1980.

Prior to embarking on her professional path, Ms. Winebrenner pursued a formal education at the University of Wisconsin, earning a Bachelor of Science in 1960. She concluded her studies with a Master of Science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1979. A certified teacher in the states of Illinois and Wisconsin, Ms. Winebrenner additionally received an administrative certificate from the state of Illinois.

A published writer, Ms. Winebrenner's creative works include “Teaching Gifted Kids in Today's Classroom,” “Teaching Kids with Learning Difficulties in Today's Classroom,” “The Cluster Grouping Handbook,” “Differentiating Lessons for Every Learner,” “The Super Sentences Activity Book,” “Twice-Exceptional: Supporting and Educating Bright and Creative Students with Learning Disabilities”, edited by Scott Barry Kaufman, Additionally, she has contributed numerous articles on differentiating instruction for atypical learners at many national and state educational conferences including the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) and the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC). She has presented talks and workshops in the US, Mexico, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Ms. Winebrenner is particularly proud of the ongoing success of her publications over many years in various editions. Several of her internet radio shows have been archived by the BBN Radio Network under the title, “You Are What You Think”.

For her accomplishments in the field, Ms. Winebrenner has been the recipient of numerous accolades, including an Achievement Award from the California Association for the Gifted in 2007 and the Outstanding Teacher Award from the Joint Council on Economic Education in 1979. Outside of professional activities, Ms. Winebrenner enjoys time with her grandchildren, as well as sailing, reading and music.
