SHARJAH, United Arab Emirates–Some of the world’s most talented photographers will be sharing their unique experiences and awe-inspiring images though a series of exhibitions, workshops and discussions in the UAE next week, from November 22-25, as part of the International Photography Festival, Xposure 2017. Included among them are seven of the most exciting photographers from the Americas.
Boston-based Rick Friedman, a photojournalist for over three decades, has appeared in Time, Newsweek, The New York Times, and The Guardian. Rick has photographed every presidential candidate from President Jimmy Carter to Donald Trump.
Currently, the Director of Photography at Yahoo News, Kelli Reed Grant, is a leading industry expert with 23 years of experience under her belt. From war, sports and politics to fine arts, Kelli has worked with top photographers, photo agencies and publications of every genre around the world.
World-renowned National Geographic photographers from the US have been added to the elite line-up of Xposure 2017. These include leading storyteller and National Geographic’s Senior Editor, Kathy Moran, who has documented and published more than 300 stories on wildlife conservation, and Jodi Cobb, whose expertise comes from her specialty in large-scale global stories she has covered in more than 50 countries.
Cristina Mittermeier, another celebrated National Geographic photographer from Mexico, will introduce her take on environmental responsibility through her visual teachings, which she gathered in a series of photography expeditions in 100+ countries.
Another American participant is Elia Locardi, the internationally acclaimed professional travel photographer, writer and public speaker, who is as famous for his work as he is for his free lifestyle, independent of an association with a location. Locardi has nearly 3 million followers on social media.
Professor Eli Reed, the American photographer and photojournalist has given the world unforgettable photo documentation of such conflicts as the wars in Central America, the war in Lebanon, and others. He has also produced Special Stills for over a dozen block-buster movies like “A Beautiful Mind” and “8 Mile”.
XPOSURE 2017 is expected to spark a region-wide engagement and inspiration through a gathering of 32 of the world’s most celebrated photographers.
