LAUSANNE, Switzerland, October 25, 2017 (PRESS RELEASE JET) – Crisalix, leading game changer in 3D & 4D VR surgical planning imaging for Plastic Surgery, with a focus on bringing the latest imaging technologies to the aesthetic field today announced topline results of an ongoing online prospective patient clinical data analysis on reducing post-surgery patient dissatisfaction towards classical consultations as well as improving patient care, education and effectiveness, in general, with its exclusive Before and After simulation technology.
This ongoing online clinical data analysis is a first of its kind as it is performed on a direct and constant basis using patients’ post consultation visualization portal through secured remote online access to their 3D imaging account. As of October 22nd, 2017, 2378 patients from 50 different countries representing 449 clinics and plastic surgeons have responded to the entire clinical survey after their Crisalix consultation while 377 patients from 35 countries representing 174 clinics and plastic surgeons have fully completed the post-surgery clinical survey.
Among others, patient clinical data shows that:
- Crisalix post-consultation satisfaction rate is 95%.
- Crisalix is the optimal implant selection tool at 82%.
- Crisalix is the key decision factor for 58% of the patients.
- Time efficiency improved to days for patients deciding for the surgery, compared to years for 86% of patients without Crisalix.
- Crisalix post-surgery satisfaction rate is 99%.
- 97% of the patients felt Crisalix outcome was similar to the real outcome.
My experience with Crisalix 3D imaging as well as the Virtual Reality technology mirrors the results of this large global study in that patient satisfaction is extremely high and the ability to communicate effectively with the patient with regards to her desired result has eliminated the postoperative complication of re-operation for size change. Incorporating this technology into the consult process has become a vital component of the overall breast augmentation experience.
“The consultation is a key moment when patients express their desire, when they learn from the surgeon about the surgical options and often take the decision about their future surgery,” says PhD Jaime Garcia, CEO and founder of Crisalix. “When plastic surgeons simulate the possible outcomes of their patients with our constantly evolving 3D and 4D VR technology, it creates a common ground where patients are able to express their desire and doctors can better educate on the options in a more realistic and easy way.”
“I confirm that the data supports my experience, that patients really enjoy being involved with the decision-making process. It really enhances the overall consultation, and allows close family members to be involved and support the patient’s choices. Overall, I am very pleased with the product and impressed at how it continues to develop.” says Mr Gerard Lambe, board certified plastic and reconstructive breast surgeon in UK.
“The numerous questions and patients doubts related in regards to surgery outcomes were by essence difficult to answer until now as they tend to be subjective and vary from patient to patient,” says PhD Jaime Garcia.
“The results of this large study came with no surprise. The satisfaction rate with my patients are now almost 100% due to the fact that they are more informed and bear a more clear expectation of what is going to be the realistic outcome of the surgery. I cannot imagine doing a consultation today without Crisalix in my practice,” says Mr. Marcos Sforza, board certified plastic surgeon and Scientific Medical Director of the Hospital Group in UK.
“Without this technology, patients tend for example to look online at others before and after which are by essence very different, thus creating too often false expectations that translates into post-surgery dissatisfaction and issues!” says Jaime Garcia.
“It becomes very critical to plan the surgery with objective data. Crisalix meets all needs,” says Dr Zekeriya Kul, board certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon from Turkey.
“After numerous years of constant development,” Jaime Garcia says, “we are delighted about these ongoing clinical results that demonstrate the fundamental need for Crisalix in any consultation.”
“Changing one’s appearance is not an easy decision to make as it has an impact that lasts for years and needs proper education and communication before undergoing any procedure. With this state of the art technology, it is the first time they can really expect what could be done,” says board certified plastic surgeon Alfredo Hoyos from Colombia, pioneer in the cosmetic surgery industry, inventor of multiple surgical techniques such as Hi-Def Liposculpture.
“Thanks to our growing and loyal users community, thousands of patients are already able to experience a Crisalix 3D or 4D VR consultation every week which has begun to become a benchmark in the plastic surgery field. We are extremely grateful to them and are constantly driven by radically improving patient and surgeon satisfaction by bringing the most advanced technology to the service of the aesthetics field. Our aim is that before and after 3D and 4D VR becomes a standard in any consultation,” says Jaime Garcia.
“This is probably one of the biggest if not the biggest change the industry is now going through and that will support the aesthetics field to become not only more accessible but more appreciated by patients as their understanding of it increases,” says Dennis C. Hammond.
To constantly improve patient care and to increase medical understanding, Crisalix publicly shares all research results with researchers, trial participants or any organization, whether results are positive, neutral or negative, searching to support aesthetic patients’ interest.
All surgeons quoted here have no financial relationship with Crisalix and therefore speak on their own behalf. The same can be said about patients who have received no compensation. This ensures non-biased results and no conflict of interest.
